ArachniDex Privacy Policy

1. Who operates ArachniDex

ArachniDex is developed and operated by TheraPhased.

2. Information you provide

Account information

If you create or sign in to an ArachniDex account, information may include:

• Your email address.
• Your Firebase user identifier.
• Your selected keeper or display name.
• Basic profile information supplied by Google Sign-In, such as a Google profile image, where available.

Profile information

You may optionally upload a custom profile avatar or select an ArachniDex avatar. Custom uploaded avatars are stored using Firebase Storage.

Collection and husbandry information

Information you enter into ArachniDex may include:

• Species, common names and scientific names.
• Animal nicknames, sex, stage, status and size.
• Acquisition dates, sources and vendor information.
• Feeding, molt and maintenance records.
• Environment, enclosure, temperature and humidity information.
• Wishlist entries.
• Breeding, pairing, egg sac, ootheca and hatch records.
• Purchase prices, sale prices and dated value-history entries.
• Notes and other information you choose to enter.
• Images you choose to associate with your records.

This information is primarily stored locally on your device. Supported information may also be included in a cloud backup when you use cloud backup features.

Feedback and support

If you contact ArachniDex support, the information you send may include your email address, message, screenshots and any other details you choose to provide.

3. Information collected automatically

ArachniDex uses Google Firebase services that may automatically process technical information.

Firebase Analytics

Google Analytics for Firebase may collect information about how the app is used, including app interactions, installation identifiers, general device information, app version, operating-system version and approximate usage statistics.

This information is used to understand app performance and improve ArachniDex. It is not used by ArachniDex to serve advertising.

Firebase Crashlytics

Firebase Crashlytics may collect crash logs, diagnostic information, installation identifiers, device model, operating-system version, app state and technical details connected with a crash or error.

This information is used to identify faults, improve stability and diagnose technical problems.

4. How information is used

ArachniDex uses information to:

• Create, authenticate and manage user accounts.
• Keep display names unique.
• Save and display your profile and avatar.
• Store and manage your collection, wishlist and husbandry records.
• Provide manual and automatic cloud-backup features.
• Restore supported records after sign-in or reinstall.
• Provide milestones, achievements and collection statistics.
• Confirm ArachniDex Pro purchase entitlement.
• Respond to support and feedback requests.
• Detect crashes, fix defects and improve app performance.
• Protect accounts, services and users from misuse.
• Meet legal, regulatory and platform obligations.

5. Local storage and cloud backup

Local data

ArachniDex stores collection information in a local database and app preferences on your device. Local data normally remains on that device unless you export it, back it up, restore it or delete it.

Cloud data

When you sign in and use cloud features, supported data may be stored in Firebase services under your account identifier.

Manual cloud backup may be available to signed-in users. Automatic cloud backup is an ArachniDex Pro feature and may run after supported changes are made.

Cloud backup is not currently advertised as continuous, near-instant multi-device synchronisation. Future sync features may operate differently and this policy will be updated if necessary.

CSV import and export

ArachniDex allows you to export and import collection information. Exported files are stored or shared only in the location or service you choose. You are responsible for protecting exported files.

6. Third-party services

ArachniDex uses services provided by Google. These providers may process information according to their own privacy terms and policies.

Google may process information on servers located outside your country. Google applies its own safeguards and terms to those transfers.

7. Payments and subscriptions

ArachniDex Pro purchases and subscriptions are processed by Google Play. ArachniDex does not directly receive or store your full payment-card or bank-account details.

ArachniDex receives purchase and entitlement information needed to determine whether Pro features should be unlocked. Google may retain purchase, transaction, tax, fraud-prevention and subscription records under its own policies and legal obligations.

Deleting an ArachniDex account does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription. Subscriptions must be managed or cancelled separately through Google Play.

8. Sharing and sale of information

ArachniDex does not sell or rent your personal information.

Information may be processed by service providers such as Google and Firebase only as needed to provide authentication, storage, backup, diagnostics, analytics and billing functions.

Information may also be disclosed where reasonably necessary to:

• Comply with a lawful request or legal obligation.
• Protect the rights, safety and security of users or others.
• Investigate fraud, misuse or security incidents.
• Establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

9. Data retention

Local information remains on your device until you delete records, clear app storage, uninstall the app or use an in-app account-clearing process.

Account-associated cloud information is generally retained while your account remains active or until you delete the relevant data or request account deletion.

Diagnostic and analytics information may be retained by Google according to the settings and retention periods of the relevant Firebase service.

Limited information may be retained where necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, legal compliance or enforcing agreements. Data in technical backup systems may take a limited period to expire where immediate removal is not technically possible.

10. Account and data deletion

You can delete your ArachniDex account and associated cloud data inside the app:

1. Open ArachniDex.
2. Open Settings.
3. Open Account & Data.
4. Select Delete account and cloud data.
5. Review and confirm the deletion.

You may need to sign in again if recent authentication is required.

You can also request deletion without the app through the dedicated account-deletion page:

Account deletion may remove your authentication account, profile, display-name reservation, custom avatar, cloud backups, cloud collection data, achievements and other account-associated cloud records.

Individual animal, wishlist, feeding, molt, breeding, value and note records can also be edited or removed without deleting your entire account.

11. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including rights to:

• Ask what personal information is held about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of personal information.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Request a portable copy of information you provided.
• Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
• Complain to an applicable data-protection authority.

Requests can be sent to theraphased@gmail.com . Reasonable identity verification may be required before a request is completed.

Users in the United Kingdom may also contact the Information Commissioner's Office if they believe their data-protection rights have been infringed.

12. Security

ArachniDex uses reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information. Network communication with Firebase and Google services uses encrypted connections such as HTTPS/TLS.

Firebase Authentication and security rules are used to restrict access to account-associated cloud data. However, no storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for protecting access to your device, Google account, email account and exported files.

13. Children's privacy

ArachniDex is not specifically directed at children under 13 and is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children below the minimum age required to consent to data processing in their country.

A parent or guardian who believes that a child has provided personal information should contact theraphased@gmail.com so the matter can be reviewed.

14. External links and third-party content

ArachniDex may contain links to external sources, credits, shops, husbandry resources or other websites. ArachniDex is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of external websites.

15. Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when ArachniDex features, services, legal obligations or data practices change.

The updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated within the app or store listing where appropriate.
